The DLS charger then maintains the battery state of charge by only putting into the battery what is required by the load or self discharge, cutting back to milliamps as the battery requires.

If you going to be charging your batteries with a generator, it makes sense to charge the batteries as fast as possible without doing damaging to them. A faster charge, will of course save money spent on fuel, plus save wear and tear on the generator itself because the run time will be considerably shorter.

With voltage-limiting chargers like these, for fast charging, it is safe to charge at up to 30% of the battery capacity in amp hours. That is, you can safely charge a 100 amp hour battery with a 30 amp charger, or a 220 amp hour battery with a 75 amp charger.

If fast charging is not a concern it is fine to use a smaller charger. It will however, take considerably longer to charge your batteries.

The DLS line of battery chargers are fully protected against:

The DLS chargers operate at much cooler temperatures as compared to other brands of chargers which equates to a substantially longer life and safer operation.

The DLS chargers can also be used as a power supply without a battery to supply your DC load with just the right amount of power that it requires. A Dual Voltage Jack on all of the units allows the user to manually change the charging voltage from 13.6 to 14.2 volts. These chargers/power supplies meet FCC criteria for minimal radio and television interference especially on the lower frequency bands. All DLS converters are compatible with IQ4 Smart Control Technology.

WARRANTY

The DLS Series power converter/battery charger is warranted from defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of retail purchase, and limits the remedies to repair or replacement. This warranty is valid only in the continental United States and Canada.

This is absolutely the perfect set-up for your new IOTA charger. Just fit the special terminals into the terminal blocks on the IOTA charger and you're ready to charge you batteries. Sure beats scrounging around the hardware store trying to figure out how to hook up your charger.

12 Volt DLS Series Chargers                              

The UL Listed DLS series power converter/battery charger from IOTA Engineering converts 120 volts nominal AC to 13.6 volts DC As a power supply, its tightly controlled regulation allows the user to operate any 12 volt nominal D.C. load up to the converter’s rated output current. As a battery charger, the converter will maintain the battery, delivering its full-rated current when the battery capacity falls sufficiently low. The voltage is set to deliver its maximum current for the necessary period of time that minimizes undue stress to the battery caused by heating of its cells. This helps to ensure the longest possible life of the battery. Over time, as the battery nears its full capacity, the converter will float-charge the battery to prevent self-discharge of its cells

4 Stage IQ-4 Smart Controllers                                      

The IQ Controller is available in either 12, 24 or 48 volt configurations. It allows the DLS charger to operate as an automatic 4-stage "smart charger". This gives the customer the benefit of Bulk, Absorption, and Float stage charging, increasing the charging capacity of the DLS charger and decreasing charge times, insuring proper and safe battery charging and minimizing over-charging.

This "smart" technology monitors the battery at all times. If the DLS voltage remains in the long term float stage for more than 7 days, the IQ-4 will automatically deliver a boost charge for a predetermined time (180 minutes), then automatically return to the normal float stage.

All DLS converters are compatible with IQ4 Smart Control Technology. The IQ4 Smart Charger allows a DLS charger to operate as an automatic (Bulk, Absorption, and Float) smart charger plus a weekly equalization function. The IQ4 Smart Charger installs simply by plugging into the DLS Dual Voltage Jack. The Smart Charge circuitry is automatically engaged.

24-27 Volt DLS Series Chargers                         

The DLS series power converter/battery charger from IOTA Engineering converts 120 volts nominal AC to 24-27 volts DC As a power supply, its tightly controlled regulation allows the user to operate any 24 volt nominal D.C. load up to the converter’s rated output current. As a battery charger, the converter will maintain the battery, delivering its full-rated current when the battery capacity falls sufficiently low.
