Battery Cable - Interconnects

Acid Spill Absorber & Neutralizer                                           

This amazing product is way beyond anything else on the market you could use. For years all we had to recommend to folks was, to sprinkle baking soda on the floor underneath their battery installation. The result was marginal at best.

Now you can spread our acid spill absorber & neutralizer with confidence that any spill will be contained and neutralized. The formula changes color when acid is present and then changes color again when the acid is neutralized. No guessing that it worked... you see visual proof it has done its job. We sell the 8 pound bucket which should be enough for the life of your batteries.

We recommend spreading the formula on the floor under your protective floor mat and then on top of the mat as well. Then place you batteries directly on the formula. Or in the case of HuP Solar One batteries also sprinkle into the bottom of the cans as well. Any spillage will be quickly absorbed and neutralized.

Floor Protective Battery Mat                                                      

Everybody who sets up a battery system always asks... What should I put under my batteries to protect my floor?

Here's the answer... Our acid absorbing battery mat! We sell it in a convenient 3 foot by 10 foot roll. A perfect size for most battery installations. Can be cut to size.

In the event of a battery spill use our wash water neutralizer TSB-510160 to neutralize acid and then shop-vac to remove liquid and reuse mat again. Will last the life of many battery installations. Cheaper than a truck bed mat, and it absorbs acid spills too.

Eyewash Station

Add to wash water to neutralize acid spills on our Floor Protective Battery Mat or anywhere you have a sulfuric acid spill. Once neutralized just suck it up with your shop-vac and your done.

Use on the battery box in your car or truck.  When I have new batteries delivered, I always wash the sides and bottom of the batteries before I put them into service. Never wash the tops of your batteries as you do not want any neutralizer to get into the cells, because it will damage them.

If you're quick it may even save your new blue jeans!

This has got to be the coolest little tool for easily stripping insulation from large single conductor cable, without damaging the conductor itself.  QuickStrip™ cable stripper by Quick Cable This tool easily strips from 10 gauge wire up to 4/0 cable.

Simple to use. It cuts through the insulating jacket without damaging the conductors. Includes a spare blade in the handle. I have been using a cable stripper tool for years  and I have not found a better way to strip larger cable.

IPS Class T Fuse System                                                                   

The IPS® Class T Fuse Block is designed to provide code compliant over-current protection for mobile applications. It protects the battery bank, inverter and cables from damage caused by short circuits and overloads. It uses a fast acting, current limiting class T fuse cartridge which provides instantaneous protection in the event of a short circuit but also employs a time delay to allow momentary current surges common in inverter applications.

The Solar Biz, offers a complete line of IPS® class "T" fuse blocks. Available in 110, 200, 300, 350 and 400 amp models. IPS® fuse blocks are ideal in mobile applications where over-current protection is required for high current components such as inverters and chargers. A rugged GE Lexan®940 injection molded base and thermoformed Abex 700 ® ABS cover provide durability, easy installation and good looks all in a compact, cost effective package.

Fuses must be connected in the main positive battery cable between the battery bank and the Inverter, for all inverter installations, regardless of battery voltage. We offer these economical fuses and fuse holders as an alternative to expensive large breakers and breaker boxes.

DC Rated Fuses                                                                        

Fuses Are Required ...on all wiring. If you aren't fused, your are risking a fire and perhaps an explosion. If you have insurance and have a fire you may not qualify for the insurance you paid for. If the claims adjuster finds wiring not to Code they cancel your insurance!

DC RATED Fuses

Not all fuses are created equal. Yes... you may be able to save some money by purchasing AC fuses at the local hardware, or at some other electrical or marine outlet. But if you really want protection, use a fuse designed for DC systems, not AC. We offer these DC fuses exclusively.

Size for In-Rush Loads

These fast acting fuses can either bolt to your battery terminal or distribution lugs and provide the protection you need. Because they are fast acting, they must be sized for in-rush loads.

DC Breaker Box and Breakers                                                       

Got a real small DC only system and only need a few breakers?... here's your answer.  Here is very handy impossible to find item. It is a small DC/AC breaker box. Will accept 1 to 4 either DC or AC din rail mount breakers. 3/4-1 inch knockouts top and bottom. Small size 3" X 3" X 7"  Weight 2 Lbs. Rated for indoor use only. Order breakers separately. Power Vent                                                                                                                                    

Battery Bank Ventilation
Ventilates hydrogen that's naturally generated through the charging of your battery bank. Prevents dangerous build up of explosive hydrogen gas. Uses very little power. Guaranteed for 4 years. Choice of 12, 24 or 48V DC models.

The POWER VENT was designed for use in remote home power systems. The concept arose from field experience of systems with enclosed battery boxes. Quite often the NEC required venting was found back drafting, thus cooling the battery bank and lowering its' capacity as well as venting hydrogen gas into the structure.

POWER VENT alleviates this condition by keeping a gravity operated damper closed within the vent pipe except at times when the batteries are being charged and producing hydrogen gas. During these times the battery box is force vented with a low power, sparkless fan which overcomes the damper sending the gas outdoors. The "fan on" mode is determined by the battery voltage. When the batteries are "gassing" during charge periods the battery voltage will read above normal. A voltage sensitive switch is required in the system to make the on/off determination. All TRACE SW model inverters have a programmable auxiliary relay which can operate the POWER VENT. Other systems require the addition of a voltage controlled switch.
