These pictures are of a battery bank where so called "Recombinant Caps" were installed... see the burn marks? Check out the Caps them selves. This is not an isolated incident. We have seen many such cases over the years.

This case was not from failing to remove the caps during equalization, which is always necessary with these units.

We believe that If you don't want to do allot of maintenance on your batteries, you choose either AGM batteries (which require no watering) or you choose to invest in a battery filling system, which makes filling you batteries with distilled water a quick and pleasant task, plus - you don't have to come into contact with the acid.
