Do lightning rods really attract lightning?
NO they DO NOT attract it, but IF lightning is going to hit your building it WILL hit the rods.
The Design Rules
| Building MUST have two groundings as widely spaced as possible, at diagonally opposite corners if the distance around the perimeter is 250 feet or less. | |
| Larger buildings of between 250 to 350 feet perimeter require three groundings. | |
| 350 to 450 foot perimeter need four groundings and so on. | |
| Cables shall be free of sharp turns and U or V pockets. | |
| Cables shall maintain a downward course. | |
| Metal buildings shall be treated the same as any other building. |
